A Drive-Thru Kindness Story That’s About to Happen

A couple of weeks ago, Texas Country Reporter and Dairy Queen ran a fun contest on Instagram: “What would you do to pay it forward with a $100 DQ gift card?” They asked followers to comment their ideas and then they’d pick 25 winners.

I threw in the idea to walk inside the store, hand over the gift card, and anonymously pay for every drive-thru order until it ran out. No announcements, no selfies. It would just be strangers pulling up to the window, expecting to pay, and instead hearing, “It’s already taken care of.” A tiny surprise that sends them driving away with a bigger smile than when they pulled in.

I posted the comment and honestly didn’t think much more about it…

Until Texas Country Reporter replied:

I was blown away to be one of the 25 people they chose! I’m humbled and honored to be a part of this awesome gesture of kindness.

The actual drive-thru kindness spree is still ahead of me. But just knowing it’s coming has my heart buzzing with excitement. In a world that can feel pretty noisy, this felt like a quiet high-five from the universe: good ideas still get noticed, kindness still wins, and those Blizzards are going to taste extra sweet when they’re shared with strangers.

Big thank-you to Texas Country Reporter and Dairy Queen for picking my idea and for the gift card that’s about to make it real. And to everyone reading this, next time you’re in that drive-thru line, maybe pay for the car behind you. The ripple effect is real, and I know it will feel a whole lot better than you’d expect.

Here’s to surprise Blizzards and drive-thru happiness coming very soon.
Who’s with me? ❤️
